BCycle Station Commission Contest

Houston Bike Share is a non-profit organization that offers an affordable, sustainable, and healthy public transit system for the City of Houston.

Houston BCycle is updating 2 BCycle stations located in Midtown, Houston. There is a total of 122 BCycle stations across the city with over 800 BCycles. Every year, we see over 200,000 of new riders utilizing our BCycles traveling over 2,000,000 miles across the City of Houston. We are currently looking for an artist who can bring one of our BCycle stations alive! This Open Call is open to all artists of all ages, emerging and established in Houston.

The TWO artists that will be selected will be given ONE WEEK to paint the BCycle station located at either on LaBranch & Lamar or Brazos & McGowen. They will have a protected Houston BCycle tent and the artist will be promoted through our Social Media (15K followers through Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook).

Each artist will receive $3,000 of compensation. = ($1,000 prior the start of the project and $2,000 finishing.)

Requirements

Each submission needs to include the artist website, social media handle, and bio.

Artists need to use only 6 SPECIFIC colors for each design. These colors represent the Midtown logo.
