A Tale of Two Bridges is a grassroots effort advocating for the construction of two bike/pedestrian bridges over White Oak Bayou that would help connect Houston Heights to Washington Ave and beyond to Buffalo Bayou and Memorial Park. Join us for a bike ride to demonstrate how long it takes to get across the bayou without the bridges that we are advocating for. We will also bike around to tour the green space and put the project into a human perspective.

Come meet BikeHouston at Tranqulity Park at 8:00am on Saturday, April 23 in celebration of Earth Day as we ride following METROs Green Line southeast through Second Ward to Wayside Drive. Bring your own bike, or ride a BCycle for free, thanks to Houston BCycle.
The ride will return downtown heading north along the Buffalo Bayou Hike & Bike Trail. This is an approximately 13-mile, family friendly ride. We will roll out at 8:15am sharp and the ride is expected to last approximately 2.5 hours.
Among the destinations we expect view are: Discovery Green, Eado Bike Co., Harrisburg Graffiti Park, Eastwood Park, Harrisburg Hike and Bike Trail, Enrique’s Super Cycles, BCycle Headquarters, Tony Marron Park, The Concrete Silos, Buffalo Bayou Canoe Launch, James Bute Park, and Jose Campos Torres Park
Small portions of the ride may contain loose gravel or rocks and some riders may need to dismount. The route will follow METROs Geen Rail line and will frequently be riding next to and crossing over railroad tracks.
