Field Technician

Position Summary:

Houston BCycle is looking for a qualified field technician and driver for full-time employment. This role is the public face of BCycle so a positive and friendly attitude is an absolute necessity!  Ideal candidate is team-driven, goal oriented, able to work independently and has an eye for detail. Training will be provided.

Primary responsibilities include:

·        Works independently most of the time under the guidance of the Field Manager

·        Drives a van/truck throughout downtown to check status of stations and bikes

·        Maintains stations - troubleshooting, replacing parts, batteries

·        Performs routine maintenance on bicycles - pumps up tires, tighten set posts, etc.

·        Evaluates bike condition and escalates issues as needed

·        Inspects bike stations for safety, operability and cleanliness

·        Customer service/ interaction (answering questions on the street)

·        Balancing the system (Moving bikes around)

·        Events (setup, tear down and other assigned duties)

Requirements:

·        Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record

·        Must have a general knowledge of downtown, midtown, Montrose, and Herman Park area

·        Must have high school diploma or equivalent

·        Must have bike mechanic experience or mechanical aptitude

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·        Adaptability—enthusiastically adapt to changes in work environment.

·        Dependability—follows instructions; responds to management direction; solicits feedback to improve performance

·        Accountability—the individual will be working unsupervised frequently

·        Requires stooping, bending and lifting of up to 50 pounds

Schedule:

This position is hourly, full-time, and open for immediate hire. Multiple shift available. Hourly rate of $14/hour, may include occasional nights and weekends with overtime applied as appropriate. The compensation package includes benefits and vacation. The position is in Houston, Texas.
